            Getting It Together

   INFO-VISUAL OPTION 08

This view of our history takes us through each room of our museum.

In keeping with our objective to present historical components of our town and the surrounding district, many of our 'items' are either written documents or tangible items that reside within the museum or are virtually presented by contributors by way of pictures and history,

There are 'Tours' of the various rooms, hallways and closets within the museum.  These tours display pictures of the Items for you to identify and read the description on-line. The tours are created by linking together items and articles that are either in the room or are virtual images of related items.

The articles will be broad in scope to begin with, but as we gather more information we will create more specific tours.

Tours will present a brief overview of each item.  By clicking on the QR code or scanning it with a phone, you will be positioned on that specific item and will be able to see the details of it.

Happy touring, if what you see refreshes your memory on something you could contribute, please use click on the 'About Us' dropdown and select our 'Have a Potential Museum Item' form to give us information on what you have or use the 'Contact Us' to initiate dialogue with us.

Room Locations (In) use the following acronym formats;

In 10 (10 = first floor, room zero) (room zero is the hallway)

In 20 = second floor, hallway

In 12 = 1st floor, room 2

In 22-1 = 2nd floor, room 2, closet 1

Welcome to the Eckville & District Museum!

Up next.... the type of advancement our predecessors were known for....

We are pleased to have the opportunity to present a modern approach to the past.

As museum items are collected the details are posted on the website.

Visitors to the museum will have the opportunity to read the short narrative with each item on display.

Items which contain additional information will also contain a QR code which can be scanned by a cell phone to reveal the additional detail.

Visitors have the option to view and read at their own time and their own level of interest in the items on display.

Museum administrators have the advantage of updating the item details via the website, avoiding the necessity of reprinting signage or re-recording an audio.

This is an efficient and timely means of keeping our records up to date, and allowing our visitors the opportunity to progress at their own pace.

The display format will adapt to the size of the device you are using to view the information, so if your phone is set to rotate, the system will display appropriately.

And, if you'd like to review it at home, just visit our website to refresh your memory.  If you have a larger screen at home, that's even better!

Please take your time and enjoy your visit!
